Trip Schedule
(2 Days 2 Nights – 1N of accommodation in the Probolinggo or Mount Bromo area)

Day 01: Shared Ijen Crater Trekking from Banyuwangi – Transfer to Probolinggo

♦ 00.30–02.00 WIB: Begin the shared trip with pick-up from the designated locations in Banyuwangi. The pick-up process starts at approximately 00.30–01.00 WIB, followed by a transfer to Paltuding Base Camp, the main starting point for the Ijen Crater trekking activity.

♦ Upon arrival at Paltuding, complete the necessary preparations and attend a short briefing before starting the hike toward Ijen Crater.

♦ 02.00–06.00 WIB: Begin the Ijen Crater trekking activity and walk toward the crater area. Upon reaching the designated viewpoint, enjoy the opportunity to observe the Milky Way and see the famous blue fire, depending on weather conditions, volcanic activity, and local authority regulations.

♦ Blue Fire Viewing: If access is permitted by the Ijen authorities, descend toward the designated lower crater area to observe the blue fire from a closer viewpoint. Afterwards, return toward the upper crater area to enjoy the sunrise and admire the spectacular turquoise-green sulfur lake surrounded by the volcanic landscape.

♦ 06.00–09.00 WIB: Descend through the same trekking route toward Paltuding Base Camp, where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Banyuwangi.

♦ For participants starting the trip from accommodation in Banyuwangi, return to your accommodation for breakfast and a shower before continuing the journey.

♦ For participants without Banyuwangi accommodation: After returning from Ijen, you will be transferred to a local restaurant or another agreed location in Banyuwangi while waiting for the other participants who are returning from their accommodation. The group is scheduled to be ready to depart at approximately 10.00–10.30 WIB.

♦ 10.00–10.30 WIB: Depart from Banyuwangi and travel toward Probolinggo to meet other travellers joining the shared Mount Bromo tour. The journey generally takes approximately 5–6 hours, with possible stops at local restaurants for meals and toilet breaks along the way.

♦ Afternoon – Evening: Upon arrival in the Probolinggo or Mount Bromo area, enjoy free time around your accommodation and prepare for the following day's Mount Bromo excursion.

♦ Overnight stay: Homestay or dormitory accommodation in the Probolinggo or Mount Bromo area, depending on the operational arrangement.

>>> Note: If weather conditions are unfavourable or the Ijen authorities do not permit the night trekking activity, the tour will follow the regular or standard Ijen Crater trekking arrangement without the blue fire excursion. The blue fire and sunrise experiences may therefore not be available. In this situation, the shared trip departure from Banyuwangi will be adjusted to approximately after 02.00 WIB.

 

Day 02: Shared Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour – Crater Hike – Train to Surabaya or Yogyakarta

♦ 01.00–02.30 WIB: Depart from the Probolinggo area and travel toward the Mount Bromo parking area. The journey is scheduled to arrive at approximately 02.30 WIB, where you will meet the other participants joining the shared Mount Bromo tour.

♦ 02.30–05.00 WIB: Meet the Jeep driver, who will take you by shared 4WD Jeep to the designated sunrise viewpoint in the Tengger region. Enjoy the journey through the highland landscape before reaching the viewpoint.

♦ Coffee or Tea Break: Before sunrise, you may take a short break and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea available from local food stalls around the viewpoint area while waiting for the sunrise.

♦ 05.00–06.00 WIB: Enjoy the golden sunrise over the Mount Bromo landscape. From the viewpoint, admire the surrounding volcanic scenery, including Mount Bromo and the active Mount Semeru in the distance, when visibility permits.

♦ Sunrise Panorama: When the weather is clear, the morning sunlight creates beautiful shadows between the surrounding mountains, producing a memorable natural panorama across the Tengger volcanic region.

♦ 06.00–08.00 WIB: After enjoying the sunrise and taking photographs, continue the Jeep journey toward the parking area near Mount Bromo by crossing the impressive Sea of Sand, surrounded by volcanic hills and mountain landscapes.

♦ Mount Bromo Crater Hike: From the Jeep parking area, continue on foot or choose optional horse riding to cross the Sea of Sand toward the base of Mount Bromo. From there, climb more than 250 stairs leading to the crater rim.

♦ Mount Bromo Crater Panorama: At the summit, enjoy the magnificent view of the active crater, the vast Sea of Sand, the surrounding hills, and Mount Semeru in the distance. Take time to appreciate the volcanic landscape before descending.

♦ 08.00–12.00 WIB: After completing the crater exploration, return to the Jeep parking area by crossing the Sea of Sand. Meet our driver and continue by vehicle toward the accommodation in the Probolinggo or Mount Bromo area.

♦ Breakfast & Preparation: Return to the accommodation for breakfast, showering, a short rest, and preparation before checking out and continuing to Probolinggo Train Station.

♦ 12.00–12.30 WIB: Complete the preparation and depart toward Probolinggo Train Station for your onward train journey.

♦ 14.54–16.55 WIB: Take the economy train from Probolinggo to Surabaya Train Station.
